Office for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)

About us

The Office for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) of the General Curia offers help and assistance to the General Minister and his Definitory to animate, promote and coordinate everything that concerns the values ​​and actions in these great themes, fundamental in the Franciscan charism. This work of animation is carried out in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Formation and Studies and the General Secretariat for Missions and Evangelization.

The tasks of the  JPIC Office are:

• to animate the Franciscan nuns and friars in the world through the values ​​of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation, proper to the Franciscan charism;
• to promote the spirit of Saint Francis, through solidarity towards the marginalized and creation;
• living and promoting the ecological conversion emphasized in the encyclical Laudato si’ (Pope Francis, 2015);
• to help the JPIC animators of the various entities and cooperating with the social movements of the territory;
• to collaborate with the Franciscan Family, the universal Church and public institutions that set themselves the same objectives as the JPIC Office;
• to collaborate with the Pontifical University Antonianum, especially in preparing the annual JPIC course;
• to compile and publish the Contatto bulletin.
